ENDO-KLINIK Non-profit GmbH Director: H. Munkel, M.D. Letter of Recommendation Dr. Felix Drobek, born on January 17, 1970, residing in Hamburg, worked as an assistant physician from 11/13/00 to 10/31/01 at the Institute for Anesthesiology, Intensive Care and Transfusion Medicine. The Endo-Klinik is a special clinic for bone/joint surgery and neurosurgery that is supported by a private sponsor. The AIT Institute offers both disciplines in addition to septic surgery under anesthesia. A total of 25 beds are reserved for septic/aseptic postoperative and intensive care. In addition, the Institute has its own transfusion program with a blood bank (Medical Director: E. Röhrs, M.D.) which offers a highly developed autohemotherapy program. Our patient population which is generally subject to substantially increased risk from advanced age and various prior illnesses, is offered all the latest approaches to anesthesiology including paraspinal block and various types of plexus anesthesia. We focus on combined spinal and peridural anesthesia and balanced anesthesia with intubation. A higher level of monitoring is required since we offer autotransfusion during surgery and since the bone surgeries and neurosurgeries at our facilities are usually major. The routine of every physician of the Institute includes establishing, measuring and interpreting all intravascular accesses including the insertion of right heart catheters (in the presence of a senior physician) and associated perioperative monitoring and measures to maintain physiological equilibrium. |
