LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION

Mr. Felix Drobek, born on January 17, 1970, worked from November 1, 1996 to April 30, 1998 as an interning physician in the 1st Department of Internal Medicine at Wenckebach Hospital (of which I am the director) with a focus in gastroenterology, metabolic diseases, hematology and oncology. He worked in various female and male wards that, with a total of 101 beds, offers a large patient population with a variety of illnesses despite the focus of the department. Mr. Drobek took full advantage of the situation to expand his already sound knowledge of diagnosis, prognosis and therapy of internal diseases. He skillfully handled all of surgical techniques in the wards such as pleura and ascites punctures and the insertion of venous catheters, and he was independently responsible for daily ECG diagnosis.

He mastered infusion and transfusion treatments and various procedures of artificial feeding including complete parenteral alimentation and nutritional supply after percutaneous endoscopically-controlled gastrostomy.

Mr. Drobek enthusiastically participated in all colloquia on pathology and anatomy, daily discussions of X-rays, and in-house continuing education programs, and was actively involved in physician continuing education.

He worked for four months in the emergency room of our hospital to familiarize himself with diagnosis and treatment of first-aid cases of which we have approximately 17,000 per year. On his ER shifts, Mr. Drobek proved enthusiastic, careful and able to handle stress.
